What are Notice of Public Hearings?

In North Carolina local government, a notice of a public hearing informs the public about a formal proceeding to receive testimony on a proposed issue or action, and the notice must be published in a newspaper of general circulation at least 10 days before the hearing.

Public hearings are an important part of the democratic process, ensuring that the public has an opportunity to participate in decision-making.

For more information, check with the Town Clerk or the Planning Department.
